The Georgian Valentine City Centre Guest House is located in Edinburgh city centre at the South-West corner of the historic Old Town. It is the closest guest house to Edinburgh Castle, which is within a 15-minute walk. Free WiFi is available in all rooms.

We now have a simple self-entry process for evening and late night arrivals, with backup staff available of course.

Hi there, we'd like to think the days of having to be 'out' during the day are historic now, certainly with us once you have your keys you can come and go as much as you want, there are no restrictions at all!

9pm was our standard time pre-COVID, for the coming months all evening arrivals make use of one of our simple coded keyboxes at the front door, with phone back up if needed. These have been used for later arrivals for years so any time is no problem.

Hi there, each set of guests is issued with two keys, one for the external doors and one for the room. There are no restrictions or curfew at all, but we ask that guests enter quietly late at night.

We predate the car's invention by a century so no parking onsite, but there are good options - a secure car park just 120m away available at a discounted £10 per day for advance booking, metered day and free evening parking and free all weekend.

Hi there - yes we can arrange this. This will work best in certain rooms which have a fridge and we can add a microwave oven to. The room cannot be serviced of course but we can supply fresh linen and towels when required.

No on-ste but street parking - free evenings and all weekends. Good options on 'yourparkingspace.co.uk' . (Brandfield St). Commercial car parks nearby and edge of all restrictions is a few minutes directly along bus route from our door.

Is there anywhere we could store our bikes?
We have room for a couple of bikes on the ground floor behind our secondary entrance, secure from the street and easy for you to access.
I will be cycling. Do you have secure cycle storage facilities OR can i keep my bike in my room? Many thanks
We have a fire exit route with a corridor (not part of the fire route) running to the rear of the building from it - cycles have often been secured within that space giving you easy access/exit with it through the fire exit to the front.

We have many late night arrivals which are straightforward through the use of a simple coded keybox for self-entry, ensuring that any delay is also not an issue. There is of course backup if there were a problem with the box.
Hi, for compact triple room. Is there any breakfast included?
We do not currently have rates including breakfast, but for your dates if breakfast is included it will clearly say so in one of the columns in the detailed results, or will state the price to add breakfast.
For the breakfast are you able to do gluten and lacto free alternatives?
Our breakfast contains a wide range from cooked breakfast to cereals to fruit covering most diets. As a small property we do not routinely stock special diets other than vegetarian, however, given sufficient warning we are happy to meet any needs
Hello! I know this is a silly question, but what size is the double bed in your Large Superior Double Room? Is it smaller than an American queen size?
Most of our rooms feature UK double beds which are 135cm x 190cm, but some rooms, including this one, have a UK King Size which is 150cm x 200cm, almost identical to a US Queen size.
Do you provide breakfast?
Thanks for your message, the information on Booking.com is correct, with many cafes and takeaway breakfast options nearby for longer hours and at lower prices than we could, we have no meal options and now have 24 hour security staff on-site instead.
